With well over 6,000 systems deployed globally utilizing WB’s FONET technology, the FONET Product Line delivers complete fusion of BMS’s, FCS’s and vehicle subsystems to provide a centralized user experience.
Designed for use with Battlefield Management Systems (BMS) and Fire Control Systems (FCS), the FONET Product line is the only platform on the market with this heritage.  The only system on the market design for information control both vertically and horizontally within a combat theatre. Far more than merely an intercom, FONET is the ideal integration platform for deployment of complex BMS and FCS Systems like TOPAZ-ICMS or AFATDS.
Developed to enable direct data transmission of fire control commands between and within different command elements in the battlefield, the FONET Product Line has evolved into a robust integration platform that enables both increased efficiency and control to commanders.

FONET mk1 & FONET mk2 Central Units

Evolving past the legacy mk1 architecture, FONET mk2 migrates from a legacy dual core RISC processor to a quad core ARM processor.  With a completely redesigned system architecture, FONET mk2 delivers increased processing power, increased physical connections (USB, Ethernet, Radio) in the same for factor.

FONET mk2 provides increased capabilities reducing the need for external gateways, hubs or switches, while also remaining value competitive.

    FONET Mk1 Central Unit

    The FONET Mk1 Central Unit is the legacy heart of the FONET Product line.  Delivering the reliability and adaptability  end users have come to expect. With over 6000 systems deployed, both through WB directly and it's licensed resellers, FONET Mk1 has a truly global footprint. The FONET mk1 system allows users to interface and  remotely manage a wide range of radios from companies such as; L3Harris, Thales, Codan, Silvus, Radmor, Datron.  Additionally users can integrate various sensors, vehicle informatics, and weapon systems to provide a centralized user interface.     The FONET mk2 provides a significant capability increase over mk1.  With a quad core ARM processor, and increased external connections, mk2 takes the next natural step to providing end users with a highly adaptable system for deployment in complex BMS, Fire Control, and Cx deployments such as AFATDS, Systematic, and Topaz ICMS. With an integrated switch, the mk2 Central Unit's architecture enables deployment of sophisticated comm suites, while eliminating the need for external devices.     FONET mk2 Man-Packable Central Unit

    FONET Man-Packable Central Unit is a LINUX-based specialized computer. It is the core of the FONET Intercom System. It switches voice channels and routes digital data packets between IP-based end-user stations (crew member units, terminals) and other devices.     Keypad Crew Member Unit

    The Keypad CMU is the most advanced FONET Crew Member Unit. The device allows to set up calls in the system, to allocate radio stations, to set up a rebroadcast, to control data flow etc. Current settings and possible submenu options are shown as icons on its display.     Rotary Crew Member Unit

    The Rotary Crew Member Unit is a unit designed for higher level users who apart from communication and access to the radio also make use of more advanced features. The device allows an access to the radio stations, as well as allocating them, setting up calls in the system, setting up a rebroadcast, controlling data flow etc. The connections are established by a sixteen positions rotary switch with indicator lights which signal the status of the connections.

    The R35010 radio is intended for communication between team members or combat teams in small radio networks. It operates in the frequency band from 2405 MHz to 2480 MHz, and users can communicate using 16 channels (every channel defines channel and other settings). The 35010 can be deployed as a squad radio for small units or connected to a FONET mk1 or mk2 to provide dismount access to vehicle comms. The R35010 operates in a Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) system with pulse reception and transmission. Impulse works allows to radically minimize the risk of transmission detection. The R35010 is a small and lightweight device designed for immediate use. Simple operation and reliability enables communication between all members of the task group. The radio allows to create up to 64 different radio networks operating on the same frequency by assigning a different ID number to each network. In addition, the grouping feature gives ability to create radio networks of a variety of structures, including hierarchical.
